New training centre - Victory Athletic Centre.

Victory Athletic Centre (VAC) recently opened their doors in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

VAC consists of highly motivated doctors, strength and speed coaches as well as hockey skill and fundamental coaches dedicated to athletic performance. VAC consistently delivers high quality training, nutritional, motivational and medical programs that will guarantee improvements in any hockey player's game.

The facility features High Performance Training for Athletics, Sport Vision training for reactive skills, a refrigerated ice rink as well as a Chiropractic Clinic, skate sharpening and a small proshop.

The High Performance program focuses on age specific athletic training, movement and the development of proper motor skills through a variety of strength and agility training. Every athlete is assessed by staff Chiropractor Dr. Max Guarnaccia in order to prescribe the appropriate training protocols for individual athletes training. One of the most impressive areas of development is nutrition. Athletes are encouraged to understand the importance of sound nutritional habits for their busy lifestyle. If you've been trying to change eating habits at home with your athlete, you will notice an improvement after the first day.

With the Dynavision D2 VAC is quickly becoming the local leader in Sports Vision Training. The Dynavision D2 protocols set out by VAC are improving eye-hand reaction times that are noticeable in the field of play. Athletes love competing at it and everyone is trying to set and break new records. The current record is held by Sean King of the Brockville Braves in the CCHL with 131 hits in 60 seconds.

The fundamental skills and training available with shooting coaches Patrick Arbour and Adam Russo are second to none. Every player we talked to is up 15-25 km per hour and the range record is 143 km up from 120 km. The work is focussed on balance, quick efficient accurate release, changing angles and sheer power. It is quite something to see 3 players at once competing on radar trying to ring up the big number.

The Clinic at VAC and its practitioners understand the athlete and the injuries involved when competition and training force athletes to work at their maximum. They focus on keeping the athletes safe and balanced through use of functional assessments, treatment and exercise prescription.
